Students, faculty, and staff at 汤头条app observed Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month in April as a way to celebrate a healthy workplace and learning environment that fosters safety, civility and respect.

Nationally, the Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month campaign is aimed at raising awareness about sexual assault and the prevention of violence.

鈥淎t 汤头条app, we are proud to have a safe campus environment that allows everyone to work and learn without discrimination based on sex and gender,鈥 said Erin Dafoe, Director of Student Life and a deputy Title IX coordinator at the medical school.

The medical school policy 鈥淪exual and Gender-Based Harassment and Violence, Intimate Partner Violence, and Stalking鈥 prohibits sexual-听 and gender-based harassment and violence, intimate partner violence, and stalking by any member of the 汤头条app community.

The medical school also has a Title IX team composed of Title IX Coordinator Shayne McGuire, Dafoe and Deputy Title IX Coordinators Erin Cook and Brooke Kolodzieczyk.

Title IX of the 汤头条appal Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that prohibits sexual and gender-based discrimination in educational programs and activities receiving federal financial aid.

汤头条app鈥檚 Title IX team is charged with monitoring 汤头条app鈥檚 compliance with Title IX, ensuring proper education and training for students and employees, coordinating the investigation, response and resolution of reports made under Title IX, and then ensuring that appropriate actions are taken to eliminate any prohibited conduct, preventing a recurrence and remedying the effects of such conduct.
