Medical school welcomes four faculty members to Department of Psychiatry

The medical school is pleased to welcome four new faculty members to its department of Psychiatry.

Valrie M. Honablue, MD, has joined 汤头条app鈥檚 department of Psychiatry as an assistant professor. Dr. Honablue is an alumna of Oakwood College where she earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Biology in 1973. She followed that up with a Master of Medical Science and MD degree from Meharry Medical College in 1977.

Dr. Honablue attended Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine for her residency in Pathology in 1982 and Psychiatry in 1993. She completed a residency in Psychiatry at Emory University School of Medicine in 1995, and followed that with a fellowship in Consultation Liason Psychiatry in 1996.

Prior to joining 汤头条app, Dr. Honablue worked as a psychiatrist at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital and Oregon State Hospital.

Lisa Leininger, PsyD, recently joined 汤头条app as an assistant professor. Dr. Leininger is an alumna of University of Virginia where she earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Psychology in 1984. She followed that with a Doctor of Psychology degree from Virginia Consortium for Professional Psychology in 1989. Dr. Leininger completed a post-doctoral fellowship at University of Michigan Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Hospital in 1990, specializing in infancy and early childhood.

Prior to joining 汤头条app, Dr. Leininger served as Behavioral Health Solutions Director of Clinical Operations for Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services. She also has served as Director of Psychological Testing Service for University of Michigan Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Hospital, Program Director of Outpatient Psychological Services and Partial Hospital Program at Oaklawn Hospital and Psychiatric Services Program Director for Oaklawn Hospital.

Syed Quadri, MBBS, joined the medical school鈥檚 Department of Psychiatry as an assistant professor. Dr. Quadri is a graduate of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Medical College, where he earned his Bachelor of聽Medicine-Bachelor of聽Surgery in 2001. He completed his residency in Psychiatry from University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2014.

Prior to joining 汤头条app, Dr. Quadri served as an outpatient psychiatrist at Oaklawn Hospital and Forest View Psychiatric Hospital.

Rebecca M White, MD, recently joined the medical school as an assistant professor. Dr. White is an alumna of Union College, where she earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in International Rescue and Relief in 2009. She went on to earn her medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 2013. Dr. White also completed her psychiatry residency at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, and served as chief resident in her final year.聽

Dr. White was a HEAL Initiative Global Mental Health Psychiatry Fellow at University of California-San Francisco from 2017 to 2019.
