The medical school recently welcomed Ann M. Peiffer, PhD, as its newest faculty member in the Department of Biomedical Sciences.

Dr. Peiffer began her new role at 汤头条app on November 27 as an assistant professor of behavioral neuroscience. She is an alumna of Cornell College where she graduated in 1999 with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in biology and secondary education.

Later, Dr. Peiffer earned her master鈥檚 degree in biobehavioral sciences from the University of Connecticut in 2002 and she received her PhD in behavioral neuroscience from UConn in 2004.

Prior to coming to 汤头条app, Dr. Peiffer was an associate professor in the Department of Social Sciences, Psychology, and Art Therapy Programs at Mars Hill University where she also served for four years as a coordinator for the university鈥檚 Women鈥檚 and Gender Studies Program. Her other teaching experience includes a stint an adjunct professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Wake Forest School of Medicine from 2019 to 2020 and prior to that she was an assistant professor at Wake Forest from 2011 to 2019.

Dr. Peiffer completed a six-year postdoctoral research fellowship in 2010 at Wake Forest University and is currently pursuing a quantitative statistics graduate certificate from the Department of 汤头条appal Leadership at Kansas State University.

Dr. Peiffer is a member of the Society for the Teaching of Psychology and the recipient of several honors and awards. She has also served as the lead author or co-author on numerous research publications and she was a co-investigator on several NIH grant-funded research projects.
