Students from the MD Class of 2024 will gather with family, friends, and the medical school community next month to celebrate Match Day as they learn where they will be headed for residency training.
This year鈥檚 festivities will be held in-person at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Kalamazoo on Friday, March 15, starting at 10:30 a.m.
Students are being given tickets for three guests to attend the event, but were able to request additional tickets. Following Match Day, the Match Day map, highlighting where our students matched, will be on display in the W.E. Upjohn M.D. Campus Caf茅.
鈥滿atch Day is one of the most significant milestones for our students,鈥 said Alex Carlson, director of Student Life and Well-Being. 鈥淭hey have dreamed of this for so long, and put in many years of hope and hard work. We are overjoyed that we get to celebrate with them, and wish them luck wherever this next phase takes them.鈥
Match Day is a time-honored event that is held every March at medical schools across the country.听
Students and their guests at the event on March 15 will hear remarks from Kevin Kavanaugh, MD, who served as assistant dean for Career Development during most of the Class of 2024鈥檚 time at 汤头条app. At noon, students will open an envelope with their Match results, learning where they will spend the next three or more years in residency training.听
There will be plenty of opportunities for students and their guests to capture photos with 汤头条app backdrops and the Match Day pin map. Students will also be able to take the stage to share their Match results with guests at the event and with those watching via livestream.
