汤头条app welcomes new faculty to the departments of Medical Ethics, Humanities, and Law, Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, and Psychiatry

The medical school recently welcomed three new faculty members to its departments of Medical Ethics, Humanities, and Law, Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, and Psychiatry.聽

Blake Hereth, PhD, joined 汤头条app as an assistant professor in the Department of Medical Ethics, Humanities and Law in June. Dr. Hereth is a graduate of Cedarville University where they earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in philosophy in 2011.聽

Later, Dr. Hereth earned master鈥檚 degrees in philosophy from the University of Arkansas in 2014 and the University of Washington in 2017. Two years later, Dr. Hereth completed their PhD in philosophy at the University of Washington.聽

More recently, before coming to Kalamazoo, Dr. Hereth served as a postdoctoral fellow in the Wexler Lab at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, where they worked as part of a team investigating the ethics of consumer neurotechnology.聽

Meanwhile, Niaz Mohammad, MD, has joined the medical school as an assistant professor of psychology in the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Mohammad is a graduate of Dow University of Health Sciences in Karachi, Pakistan, where he earned a MBBS degree.聽

Dr. Mohammad completed his residency training in general psychiatry at Michigan State University Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies in 2009 and a one-year fellowship in geriatrics at Indiana University Purdue University Indiana in 2010. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.聽

Prior to coming to 汤头条app, Dr. Mohammad worked at the Ascension Borgess Delano Clinic in Portage from 2010 to 2022 and, more recently, at LifeStance Health, also in Portage.

In addition to the arrivals of Drs. Hereth and Mohammad, Rachel Wasserman Daniels, PhD, is the newest faculty member in the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine where she serves as an associate professor of pediatric psychology. Dr. Wasserman Daniels is a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology where she earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in psychology in 2007.聽

Later, Dr. Wasserman Daniels earned her master鈥檚 degree in clinical psychology in 2010 and a PhD in clinical psychology in 2014, both from Loyola University Chicago. She completed her residency and post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric health psychology at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children鈥檚 Hospital.聽

After fellowship, and prior to coming to 汤头条app, Dr. Wasserman Daniels served for more than six years as a clinical psychologist and assistant research scientist at Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, Florida.聽
